Please note that adding additional transfer films such as single or dual-sided lamination will result in a longer print speed, but still less than 60 seconds. The HDP5000 takes around 29 seconds to print a full colour card using a YMCK retransfer film. You’ll be swapping and changing ribbons in mere minutes as both the print ribbon and film are inserted in easy-to-load cartridges. Ribbon changes, cleaning cycles – it all requires minimal training. The printer’s simple design and operating system makes using the HDP5000 easy. You can watch our how-to set-up video here. Set up is that simple, we did it ourselves. In a nutshell, the HDP5000 will print the cards you’ve always dreamed of. As a retransfer printer, the HDP5000 also provides full printing coverage of the card, so the end result is similar to cards produced with large-scale professional presses. Cards will be durable, too, with a layer of HDP film added between the card image and the outside world. The printer provides superior print quality and it’s HDP technology delivers sharp photo-like images and crisp, detailed text. Wonder what the HDP stands for in HDP5000? It’s High-Definition Printing® - and that’s exactly what you’ll get. Alternatively, if you need to print a very basic design onto a lower number of plain plastic cards, not access control cards, the Fargo DTC1250e ID card printer might be a better fit. So if that sounds familiar, then the HDP5000 may be just what you’re looking for. As a retransfer printer, the HDP5000 is great for printing complex designs containing block colours, printing large volumes of cards (say, over 500) and for printing on smart cards. The Fargo HDP5000 is a retransfer printer, ideal for advanced ID card printing.
